1. Hot dipped galvanized steel coil description
Galvanized Steel is continuously coated on both sides with a zinc coating, using a hot dip process that we originally pioneered. With its tight metallurgical bond between the steel and the coating, Galvanized Steel provides the strength and formability of steel plus the corrosion protection of zinc. Zinc protects the base metal by providing a barrier to corrosive elements and preferentially corroding in place of the base steel. Galvanized Steel is available with special surface finishes, tailored for specific applications, and in a variety of base metal grades and coating weights. Galvanized Steel is widely used in many applications in the automotive, appliance, construction, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and other industries.
2. Hot dipped galvanized steel coil technical process
After cleaning and acid pickling, the steel coil is submerged in melted zinc, a chemical reaction permanently bonds the zinc. The zinc actually permanently becomes a part of it and the successive
layers are a mixture of zinc and iron. Hot dipped galvanized steel coil is a special type of steel coil used
in a number of different applications within fabrication and manufacturing environments
